Apple has introduced its latest iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max at the event called 'Awe Dropping' on Tuesday. The Pro versions will launch alongside the regular iPhone 17 and the newly designed Air model in the next few days. As anticipated, the iPhone 17 Pro models operate on Apple's A19 Pro chip, which is the leading technology they have. Both Pro versions come with iOS 26 pre-installed. The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, revealed the latest flagship phones during a recorded presentation that was broadcast live on the Apple website and its YouTube channel. These new models, which follow the iPhone 16 Pro series, come with various enhancements and features. Both smartphones will support all the AI capabilities from the Apple Intelligence suite. The starting price for the iPhone 17 Pro in the US is $1,099 for the version with 256GB of storage, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at $1,199 for the same storage option. In India, the iPhone 17 Pro begins at Rs. 1,34,900, and the 17 Pro Max starts at Rs. 1,49,900. They will be available in Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue, and Silver colors.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 17 Pro models can be placed starting September 12, with global sales beginning on September 19. The latest Pro models have switched back to an aluminum design, meaning that this year’s options will not have the titanium body that was found in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro. In contrast, the new iPhone 17 Air will feature a titanium body. Apple has adopted a unibody style with a "full-width camera plateau" on the back, marking a complete design refresh. Additionally, the iPhone 17 Pro is the first flagship phone from Apple to include a vapour chamber cooling system, which is said to provide improved performance during heavy usage. The iPhone 17 Pro boasts a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion that reaches up to 120Hz, while the 17 Pro Max includes a 6.9-inch display with similar specifications. The new Ceramic Shield 2, featuring a coating designed by Apple, reportedly offers three times better scratch resistance on the screens. Both devices are capable of achieving peak brightness levels of 3,000 nits in outdoor settings.

The iPhone 17 Pro versions come with the latest A19 Pro chip, along with a new vapor chamber designed by Apple. The company states that this is the "most powerful" chip ever for an iPhone, providing up to 40 percent improved sustained performance compared to previous models. The chip features a six-core CPU and a six-core GPU design, with each GPU core having its own neural accelerators.

When it comes to the cameras, the iPhone 17 Pro models have three rear cameras, which include a 48-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 48-megapixel telephoto camera. This marks the first instance where all three rear cameras on an iPhone have the same resolution of 48 megapixels. The telephoto camera has seen the most significant upgrade from earlier versions, which had a 12-megapixel camera. Apple mentions that this camera is 56 percent bigger and features 8x optical zoom and 40x digital zoom. On the front side, there is an 18-megapixel camera that uses Centre Stage to automatically adjust the framing of photos.

The iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max will come with iOS 26 right from the start. This new operating system introduces the Liquid Glass user interface and adds new AI features. Users will be able to access artificial intelligence capabilities like Live Translation in the Messages, FaceTime, and Phone applications, enhanced visual intelligence abilities, as well as new call and message screening tools. According to Apple, the iPhone 17 Pro models come with a larger battery because of their unibody design, and the A19 Pro processor is designed to be more energy-efficient. Apple also claims that the iPhone 17 Pro Max offers the "longest battery life ever seen in an iPhone." The devices can work with high-wattage USB-C chargers and are reported to charge to 50 percent in just 20 minutes.
