Arsenic Content in Rice is Alarming!Healthy Living

Rice is the staple food for the people living in Asian subcontinent and also being consumed in greater levels by the people of America, the UK and other western countries because of its taste and easy digestible capacity.

The Rice is also taken as primary food by those, who are suffering from celiac disease and have intolerance to wheat products. But, the recent report in the US revealed that the people eating rice had a higher percentage of arsenic than that of non-rice eaters.

According to the analysis of US federal health data, people eating rice as primary food having arsenic levels that were 44 percent greater than those of not eating rice. And the European Food Safety Authority found that most of the cereal products are embracing arsenic quantity because of rice, which absorbs the dangerous element from soil, water and other medium.

The US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) had observed higher amounts of arsenic in the imported basmati and other varieties of rice. The arsenic shows negative impact on human beings by affecting on their health severely, skin, bladder and lung cancers are common risks from long term exposure to arsenic.

So, we should be careful while eating any food, since the latest reports of lead content in magi, pesticide content in cool drinks, unwanted chemicals in packaged foods are threatening the lives at an alarming level.

It is advised to the readers to consume healthy products, which are grown on natural way without pesticides and chemicals, and those stored in healthy preservatives.
