Gulf states declare Hezbollah a \'terrorist group\'

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) declared Hezbollah a \"terrorist organization\" on Wednesday. Abdul Lateef Al Zayani, the secretary general of the alliance, said that, the action includes all the leaders, members and organizations and offshoots of the group. The GCC comprises Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia,  the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar.

Al Zayani said that, “the GCC made the decision because the hostile actions of the group to recruit young people from the member countries did not stop.”

They recruit the young GCC citizens to carry out terror acts, explosives, smuggle weapons, cause seditions an incite chaos and violence in a blatant violation of the security and stability of the GCC member states, he added.

“The GCC countries,  see the practices by the Hezbollah militia within the Gulf and its terrorist acts and incitement in Syria, Yemen and Iraq as against international values, moral and human principles and laws and as a threat to Arab security,” Al Zayani said.

“As the militias did not cease their terrorist practices, the GCC countries have decided to consider it a terrorist group, and all necessary procedures will be taken with regard to the decision and based on the special laws pertaining to fighting terrorism in the GCC and on similar international laws,” he added.
